Dilip Guha ★ New Delhi : Durga Puja in Greater Noida is gearing up to attract devotees with grand celebrations across various sectors. Among those puja pandals, Greater Noida Sharadia Sanskritik Samiti (GNSSS) celebrates its 25th year silver jubilee of Durga Puja festivities—”Sharadotsav 2025″—organised at the premises of Greater Noida Kalibari, located in Sector Pi-1 & 2. The festivities are taking place from September 28 to October 2, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the cultural and spiritual life of the Delhi NCR.

What began in 2001 as an intimate gathering of just 30 families has blossomed into one of Greater Noida’s most anticipated cultural and religious events. Today, the celebration draws thousands of devotees, residents, and visitors from across the region, Delhi NCR, united in celebration, devotion, and community spirit.
Throughout its journey, GN Kalibari has remained steadfast in its commitment to tradition, embracing the enduring values of devotion, servitude, and simplicity that define the spirit of Durga Puja. creating a sacred space where tradition and togetherness thrive. The silver jubilee edition promises a vibrant blend of rituals, cultural performances, community feasts, and spiritual reflection, honouring the rich heritage of Durga Puja while embracing the evolving spirit of the community.

This year’s Silver Jubilee celebration promises to be a vibrant and unforgettable experience. The festivities will feature Maha Puja and rituals performed with grandeur and deep reverence, honouring the divine presence of Maa Durga. Cultural evenings will showcase renowned artists from Bollywood and Kolkata, alongside captivating performances in traditional dance, music, and theatre. A wide range of competitions and community activities will engage children, youth, and families, fostering joy and participation. Visitors can also enjoy a curated selection of food and handicraft stalls, offering the rich flavours and artistry of Bengal and beyond.

“Among the special attractions this year is the much-anticipated Musical Night on Ashtami, headlined by the legendary Bollywood playback singer Shri Vinod Rathod. His soulful renditions are set to be a defining moment of the celebrations, promising an evening of nostalgia and melody.
The festivities begin with a vibrant performance by Anwesha Dutta on Saptami, whose expressive vocals will set the tone for the days ahead. On Nabami, the stage will come alive with the dynamic energy of Pranay Majumder, adding a spirited finale to the musical lineup.”
Each day of the Puja will include the distribution of free bhog prasad to 2,500–3,000 devotees, continuing GNSSS’s tradition of hospitality and devotion.
“In a meaningful step toward sustainability, the eco-friendly immersion of the Durga idol will be conducted within the Kalibari premises in a permanent artificial pond, ensuring reverence for both tradition and the environment. The temple-style pandal, illuminated by the renowned artisans of Chandannagar, West Bengal, will offer a visual spectacle rooted in heritage and craftsmanship”.

“Adding to the festive spirit, the Anandamela, a vibrant fair organised by the resident women of Greater Noida and the nearby area, will be held on Panchami Tithi. This cherished tradition will showcase an array of homemade delicacies, handcrafted items, and cultural expressions, celebrating the creativity and warmth of the community’s womenfolk. The event promises an atmosphere of joyful camaraderie, where flavours, laughter, and shared heritage come together in a spirited display of togetherness,” he added.

In addition to their ongoing CSR initiatives, the Kalibari community operates a school where young children receive free education from dedicated members who generously donate their time and effort. For those children who gain admission to formal schools, the members of Kalibari generously bear their educational expenses, ensuring continuity in learning and opportunity. Every Sunday, they also organize a community meal, serving nutritious food to 150–200 underprivileged individuals, reinforcing their commitment to compassion, dignity, and social upliftment.
