Delhi Roadshow Launches UPITS 2026, Setting the Stage for Uttar Pradesh’s Global Trade Showcase

DILIP GUHA, NEW DELHI : The promotional campaign for the 4th Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 commenced on Friday with a grand roadshow at the Venetian and Edward Hall of Hotel Royal Plaza, New Delhi. The event marked the beginning of an extensive nationwide outreach programme aimed at engaging industry leaders, exporters, buyers, trade bodies, investors, and entrepreneurs ahead of the state’s flagship trade exhibition.

Jointly organised by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), UPITS has emerged as one of India’s most prominent state-led trade platforms. Building on the success of its previous editions, the fourth edition of the trade show will be held from September 25 to 29, 2026, at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The event seeks to further strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as a major global sourcing and investment destination through enhanced international participation, strategic partnerships, and extensive buyer outreach initiatives.

The Delhi roadshow was attended by Shri Bhupendra Chaudhary, Cabinet Minister for MSME, Government of Uttar Pradesh, as Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Shri Hans Raj Vishwakarma, Minister of State for MSME, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Shri Shashi Bhushan Lal Susheel, IAS, Principal Secretary, MSME and Export Promotion Department; Shri Ajay Kumar, Joint Secretary (States), Ministry of External Affairs; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Ltd.; Shri Sudeep Sarcar, CEO, India Exposition Mart Ltd.; and Shri Suvidh Shah, Additional Director General, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).

Representing the economic transformation and rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh, UPITS 2026 will showcase the state’s manufacturing capabilities, MSME sector, One District One Product (ODOP) initiatives, innovation ecosystem, exports, tourism, cuisine, handicrafts, and emerging industries under one roof. The event has played a significant role in expanding market access for ODOP products and is expected to further promote initiatives such as One District One Cuisine (ODOC) in its upcoming edition.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Bhupendra Chaudhary said that UPITS has evolved into a powerful platform reflecting Uttar Pradesh’s industrial strength, entrepreneurial spirit, export potential, and cultural richness. He noted that the event has contributed significantly to MSME growth, market expansion, and business generation, and would continue to serve as a catalyst for trade and investment as the state advances towards its goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.

Shri Hans Raj Vishwakarma described UPITS as a modern extension of India’s long-standing tradition of trade fairs and marketplaces. He said the platform combines global outreach with indigenous strengths and entrepreneurial capabilities, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a gateway connecting India with international markets.

Highlighting the state’s vision, Shri Shashi Bhushan Lal Susheel stated that UPITS reflects Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to becoming a preferred destination for business, manufacturing, exports, and investments. He emphasised that the nationwide roadshow series would deepen engagement with industry stakeholders and expand participation from businesses and institutions across the country.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of IEML, said the strong response received over the past three editions demonstrated the confidence of industry stakeholders in the platform. He expressed confidence that the 2026 edition would set new benchmarks in participation, business generation, and international outreach.

Underscoring the global appeal of the event, Shri Suvidh Shah of FIEO noted that the growing presence of overseas buyers reflected increasing international interest in products and opportunities emerging from Uttar Pradesh. He reiterated FIEO’s commitment to facilitating quality buyer-seller interactions and helping Indian exporters access new markets.

The previous edition of UPITS, held in September 2025, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who praised the event for promoting MSMEs, strengthening local enterprises, and advancing the vision of “Make in India, Make for the World.” The Prime Minister had highlighted the role of UPITS in connecting local businesses with global opportunities and strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth trajectory.

The 2025 edition recorded impressive participation, attracting more than 5.07 lakh visitors, including over 1.40 lakh B2B visitors. The event featured 2,228 exhibitors across more than 35,000 square metres of exhibition space and facilitated thousands of business interactions. It also welcomed over 550 overseas buyers from 85 countries through FIEO, reinforcing its status as a major international trade platform.

As Uttar Pradesh continues its journey towards becoming a trillion-dollar economy and contributes to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, UPITS 2026 is expected to play a pivotal role in fostering trade, investment, exports, innovation, and global partnerships.

The Delhi roadshow marks the first in a series of promotional engagements planned across multiple states in the coming months. These initiatives aim to strengthen domestic buyer participation, promote inter-state commerce, encourage sourcing from Indian enterprises, and support the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat through stronger business linkages and economic collaboration.
