Sasraya News: Dilip Guha : New Delhi: The Dandiya festival in Delhi is a vibrant celebration of Navratri, with multiple events organized across the city.
Delhi’s charm is in its diverse cultural tapestry, woven from the traditions of various Indian states. Delhiites partake in a wide array of festivals, be it from Punjab, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, or elsewhere. Dandiya/Garba enjoys immense popularity across all age groups throughout India with the onset of Navratri, Dandiya/Garba events spring up nationwide. In this spirit, Delhi Tourism, under the Government of Delhi, hosted a two-day Dandiya festival at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi on the 5th and 6th of October 2024.

These events promise an enchanting experience with traditional Garba and Dandiya performances, accompanied by music and dance. During the festival, attendees have the opportunity to savor a variety of exquisite foods at the venue and can purchase Dandiya-related accessories. They also enjoyed their favorite dishes at the food stalls.
On the inaugural day of the Dandiya festival, it was heartening to witness thousands of participants swaying to the Dandiya rhythms and the music spun by the celebrated DJ Akansha Popli. The day’s spotlight was the performance of songs by Bollywood vocalists Sonali Bahuguna and Urvashi Arora.

Delhi’s populace, particularly the youth, donned traditional vibrant Dandiya attire in great numbers. It was captivating to watch the crowd move to the beats of the famed DJ Akansha Popli and the melodies of Bollywood singers Sonali Bahuguna and Urvashi Arora.
On the event’s second day, the Honorable Tourism Minister Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj of the Delhi Government, accompanied by Ms. Niharika Rai, MD & CEO of Delhi Tourism, attended to enhance the splendor of the Dandiya Utsav.

DJ Barkha Kaul’s energetic beats had everyone on their feet dancing. The presence of renowned singers Jasbir Jassi and Bindu Sargam brought additional excitement to the festivities. Groups of visitors were seen enjoying the dance and having a splendid time.
