



Dilip Guha ★ New Delhi : Delhi Tourism, on behalf of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), organized a two-day event, the “Shahpur Jat Festival,” on December 24th and 25th, 2024, coinciding with the Christmas celebration.
The festival was inaugurated on December 24th, 2024, by Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Government of Delhi, and concluded on December 25th. Many dignitaries and officials attended the inaugural ceremony.
The inaugural day of the Shahpur Jat Festival was a vibrant celebration filled with diverse entertainment and activities. The day kicked off with mesmerizing folk dance performances that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region. A ventriloquist comedian brought laughter and joy to the audience with his witty and humorous act, while a poet entertained with his clever and amusing verses.
One of the highlights of the day was a captivating performance by Ajay Hooda, whose energetic and engaging act left the audience spellbound. Visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities, including fashion shows that featured both traditional and contemporary designs. The street food stalls offered a delectable array of local and international cuisines, satisfying the taste buds of all attendees.
Workshops were held throughout the day, providing hands-on experiences in various crafts and skills. Numerous cultural programs, accompanied by live music, added to the festive atmosphere, making the first day of the Shahpur Jat Festival a memorable and enriching experience for all who attended.
On the second day, the festival highlighted a dance performance by the women of Shahpur Jat village, including daughters and daughters-in-law. This day also included stand-up comedy and a fashion show featuring village participants alongside professional models showcasing designs by Mehak Creations.
The festival concluded with a mesmerizing performance by Ruchika Jangid, which captivated the visitors.
Throughout the two-day event, in addition to music, Delhi Tourism provided attendees with opportunities to explore fashion streets, food stalls, and a wide range of cultural activities, ensuring a memorable experience. Entry to the festival was free.
