Sasraya News ★ Shillong, June 9: The Meghalaya Unit of the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Foundation successfully organised a series of student competitions at RB Anupchand Hindi Secondary School, Shillong, with the aim of promoting inclusive education and encouraging creativity among students.

The programme commenced with a soulful Saraswati Vandana performed by Shereya Das, a Class IX student of St. Mary’s School. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ramsakal Sahani, Director of CRC Shillong, Meghalaya.

The gathering was formally welcomed by Smt. Falguni Chakraborty, State President of the Foundation. She warmly greeted the participants and encouraged students to actively take part in academic and creative activities in the future.

Drawing inspiration from the ideals and vision of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, she urged the young minds to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society.

During the programme, Mr. Ramsakal Sahani was felicitated by Smt. Falguni Chakraborty. Addressing the audience, the Chief Guest highly appreciated the Foundation and its State President for their efforts in promoting inclusive education. He praised the organisation for providing children with disabilities and special needs an equal platform to showcase their talents alongside other students and for fostering a spirit of equality and participation.

The event featured a wide range of competitions, including Model Making, Craft, Essay Writing, Self-Composed Poetry Writing, Extempore Speech, Quiz, and Art Competition. Students from different schools enthusiastically participated and demonstrated their talents across various categories.

The programme was efficiently hosted by Argodeep Dhar and Debjani Roy Choudhury, while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Miss Ashima Chakraborty, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, participants, teachers, volunteers, and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the event.

The Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Foundation continues to organise such educational and creative initiatives to inspire students, promote inclusive learning, and nurture young talent across Meghalaya.
