Dilip Guha ★New Delhi, September 11, 2025 : India’s First Global Multicast News Hub – Live Times, successfully hosted its Third Edition of its flagship conclave ‘Live Times Xchange’ at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, on 10th September 2025. Centred on the theme ‘Mission Delhi @2047: Reinvent India’s Capital’, this on-ground conclave brought together some of the most influential leaders, policymakers, and thinkers to deliberate on how Delhi can be transformed into a truly global and citizen-centric capital in line with India’s development vision for 2047.
The distinguished gathering included Rekha Gupta, Honorable Chief Minister of Delhi; Sanjay Singh, MP (AAP); Manoj Tiwari, MP (BJP); Kapil Mishra, Minister, Delhi; Ashish Sood, Minister, Delhi; Saurabh Bhardwaj, President (AAP Delhi); Devendra Yadav, President (Congress Delhi); Alka Lamba, Congress Leader; Raja Iqbal Singh, Mayor of Delhi; Parvesh Verma, Minister, Delhi; Prof.SantishreeDhulipudi, Vice Chancellor of JNU; Dr. M.C. Mishra, Former Director of AIIMS; and Justice Sudheer Aggarwal of the Allahabad High Court. Their participation reinforced Live Times Xchange as one of the few platforms where diverse voices converge to discuss policy, governance, and citizen welfare in an open, fact-driven manner.
The event highlighted how targeted initiatives at the state level had laid the foundation for India’s holistic development. The Key Highlights for X’Change of Insights: were exploring the critical link between state progress and India’s national growth story, and showcasing transformative initiatives from states driving economic and social development.
During the insightful discussions with thought-leaders, they also highlighted the potential decisive action plans and visions for Delhi’s long-term growth. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasised the commitment to improving core infrastructure, pledging better roads, universal water and sewer pipelines, stronger healthcare, cleaner air, and credible education reforms. She announced a bold action plan including full electrification of public transport, expansion of Delhi’s green cover by seven million trees, and restoration of the capital’s healthcare credibility. Gupta assured citizens that “Delhi will not only see change in infrastructure but also in intent, as governance becomes truly people-first.”
Speaking to veteran journalist Deepak Chaurasia, she set out a decisive vision to rebuild the capital by focusing on core issues that have long been neglected. She declared that the road to a developed India must pass through a developed Delhi, and her government’s immediate mission is to deliver on basics—better roads and connectivity, cleaner air, universal water and sewer pipelines, stronger healthcare, and education reforms that position Delhi as a genuine knowledge hub.
She said, “By walking the path of honesty, I am hopeful that the citizens of Delhi will receive their rightful entitlements and that their problems will be resolved.”
During the event, she was asked about Delhi’s vision and mission in light of the Prime Minister’s goal of a “Developed India.” In response, she said, “When the country celebrates its 100th year of independence in 2047, the vision of what Delhi will look like by then is crucial.”
She discussed the vision for a developed Delhi. She said, “The dream of a developed India will pass through Delhi.” The statement affirms that Delhi stands at the helm of the nation’s journey toward its future. She stated, “My goal is to work with honesty and improve people’s lives before anything else.”
On Delhi’s pollution crisis, Gupta outlined a bold and time-bound action plan: full electrification of public transport by 2026, incentives for private EVs, dust control through 1,000 sprinklers and 70 sweeping vehicles, smoke towers in high-rise clusters, and a green cover expansion with 7 million new trees. She assured citizens that within five years, they will see clear results: “Delhi will not only feel the change in infrastructure, but also in intent. This will be an honest government that works among the people, solving their problems with sincerity.”
Minister Ashish Sood emphasised futuristic education reforms, highlighting the government’s plan to set up 75 CM Shri Schools with AI, robotics, and data science curricula, the allocation of ₹900 crore for 21,000 smart classrooms, and the Clean Yamuna Mission. He linked these developments directly to India’s Vision 2047, underscoring inclusive and sustainable growth for all sections of society.
Bringing in a perspective of experience, Congress leader Alka Lamba reflected on her 30-year political journey and credited Sheila Dikshit’s legacy for shaping modern Delhi with flyovers, the metro, schools, and hospitals. She also stressed that leaders must take responsibility and implement clear, long-term solutions. On Delhi’s Challenges – Lamba expressed concern about Delhi being labelled the “rape capital” and “most polluted city,” calling it a personal attack on her identity as someone born and raised in Delhi. She stressed that politics has often trapped the city, but leaders must find solutions with a clear vision.
Regarding Future & Congress’s Role – She affirmed that despite setbacks and coalition politics, Congress must stand on its own feet again. She expressed confidence that with leaders like Rahul Gandhi, the party will rebuild its grassroots and regain trust, aiming to contribute meaningfully to Delhi and India’s future, especially looking towards 2047.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari added a personal dimension, sharing his journey from Bhojpuri cinema to politics. Defending migrants from Bihar and UP, he recalled his own struggles in Delhi and condemned divisive politics. He highlighted initiatives such as ₹1 lakh free healthcare for the poor, Ayushman Arogya centres, GPS-tracked water tankers to curb mafias, Yamuna cleaning projects, and the UVR-2 road project to ease congestion. He concluded on an optimistic note, saying, “With the double-engine government of Centre and State, Delhi is on the fast track to development.”
The discussions collectively emphasised five key pillars for Mission Delhi @2047: smart and transparent governance, sustainable green infrastructure, EV-led future mobility, a robust ecosystem for knowledge and innovation, and inclusive growth that ensures healthcare, housing, and infrastructure for every citizen. Experts and lawmakers across party lines echoed the need for citizen-centric services, digitally empowered governance, and transparent systems as non-negotiable elements of Delhi’s reinvention.
Mr. Dilip Kumar Singh, Founder of Live Times, emphasised the mission of restoring trust in journalism and governance debates. He stated, “Live Times was launched because people were losing faith in the news. ‘Sampoorna Satya, HarKeemat Par’ is not just a slogan—it is our responsibility. The convergence of political leaders, experts, and institutions under one roof signalled a powerful message—that Delhi’s future lies in collaboration, innovation, and citizen-first policies. The dialogue served as a reminder that when truth and accountability guide governance, India’s capital can not only reinvent itself but also set a global benchmark for inclusive urban development.
